INTRODUCTION ABOUT EPHEX – A
Ephex A Syrup is a combination medicine used in the treatment of cough with mucus. It thins and loosens mucus in the nose, windpipe and lungs, making it easier to cough out. It also provides relief from runny nose, sneezing, itching, and watery eyes.
Ephex A Syrup may be taken with food. Take it in the dose and duration advised by the doctor. In case you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But, never take a double dose to make up for the missed one. Before you start taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have suffered or are currently suffering from liver or kidney problems.
This medication may cause side effects like stomach upset, headache, tremor, palpitations, muscle cramp, increased heart rate, nausea, rash, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if your symptoms worsen or are accompanied by high fever or persistent headache. It may also cause diarrhea, so it is better to take plenty of fluids while taking this medicine as it may help to prevent dehydration. It may also cause dizziness as a side effect, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine as it may worsen your side effects. Your doctor may advise you to monitor your blood glucose regularly if you are diabetic.
